In Intentional Consequences, Repaint America is a fictitious project by tech executive Rakesh Jain to bring America together. A naturalized U.S. citizen from India, Jain is a self-made billionaire who is concerned about the effects of partisan bitterness and anger on American democracy. With advice from his professor wife, Valerie Williams, and business executives from around the country, Jain wants to build a national consensus that reinforces the things we believe in as Americans, the things that help us assimilate this boiling pot into one country. As Jain says, "I’d like to create a coalition that can rekindle our spirits and reset our horizons, regardless of whether we’re Blue or Red. We need to repaint America." Jain created www.repaintamerica.com as a trial website to test his ideas, videos and other materials.

Jain's wife, Valerie Williams, is a professor of government at the University of Texas at Austin. She is nationally respected for her research and commentary on American democracy.
